Air India flight from Colombo to Chennai Cancelled: In an unfortunate incident, an Air India flight from Colombo to Chennai with 158 passengers suffered a bird hit, as per the airport authorities. After the incident, the airline cancelled the flight. 

As per the reports, the aircraft landed safely, and all the passengers were deboarded from the plane, as per the authorities. 

What Air India officials said?

The official statement issued by Air India, stated, “The operating crew of flight AI117 from Amritsar to Birmingham on 4 October 2025 detected deployment of the Ram Air Turbine (RAT) of the aircraft during its final approach. All electrical and hydraulic parameters were found normal, and the aircraft performed a safe landing at Birmingham.”

As per the Air India authorities, the bird hit was detected after it landed at the airport in Chennai. Soon after the hit, the aircraft was further grounded for extensive checks by the Air India officials. Later, airline officials the return journey of the Air India flight following the incident.

Notably, a different flight was arranged for the 137 passengers who headed for Colombo, as per the officials.
